Sonic The Hedgehog (Game Gear) Review

                    Sega City

Sonic 1 on Game Gear Review

                                                                     Plot

In this game, the evil Dr Robotnik or Eggman depending on your region he captures Sonic's animal buddies to turn them into robots. Sonic needs to stop Robotnik/Eggman and rescue his friends.

                                                                                         Gameplay

The gameplay is really fun most of the time. Even though it is completely different from the Genesis version so much so that it is basically a completely new game besides a few levels that are the same as its Genesis counterpart. Instead of doing some trippy, psychedelic, headache inducing special stages to collect emeralds. You find them in  various zones of the game. In this version, due to the game gears screen being small all the boss fights with Robotnik/Eggman are basically cake walks. There are also diffrent special stages in the game that you are able to collect rings. Also in this game for some odd reason you will notice that  Sonic does not have  his iconic black nose. I presume it is because of some kind of limitation of the Game Gear, if not it is just a really odd design choice.

                                                                                         Soundtrack

The soundtrack to this game is great. You could listen to it even without the game. The soundtrack has a good feel to it. I really enjoyed it and it exceeded my intitial expectations.

                                                                                                  Overall Thoughts

This game is really good. It almost feels like an alternate version of Sonic The Hedghog game. I personally think it is better than the Genesis version. If you try this game out I recommend that you play it on either the Game Gear or digitally on the 3DS. I believe you will enjoy this game as much as I have.

Doom Absolution

Doom Absolution Happy Halloween everybody! Today I will be talking about the cancelled game Doom Absolution on the N64. Which was meant to be a sequel to Doom 64.          Info There is a lot we do not know about this title, so lets dive into some of the basics. It was meant to be a sequel to Doom 64. It would've been a multiplayer focused shooter game, To compete with games like Goldeneye.   A quote from Aaron Seeler said "At that time, as doom purists, most everybody involved thought it Was silly to play doom split screen, where you could see everybody else. So, we chose not to do it. 007 beat the crap out of Doom 64. Quite a regret". They decided to cancel the game because by then their engine named the Doom engine was becoming outdated. So They decided to work on Quake 64 instead. Fun Fact Doom Absolution was canceled only three months after the release of Doom 64        The  End Happy Halloween. It saw massive success in Japan, which lead to the idea of releasing the system internationally. Nintendo wanted to work with the company Atari to release it in other countires . Those plans fell through due to Coleco developing a computer version of Donkey Kong for the Coleco ADAM, the Video Game Crash Of 1983, and Atari's upcoming 7800.  Consequently Nintendo decided to make their own version of the Family Computer for the internatioal market.                                                               Details The Nintendo AVS was introduced to the world at the 1984 CES. The FamicomBox: Famicom For The Hotel

The FamicomBox: The Famicom For The Hotel    Introduction Have you ever been to a hotel? If you have, it is very likely that they may have a console you can play in your room. If you were in Japan in late 80s you would have had access to the FamicomBox. A famicom intended for hotel use.   Details   The FamicomBox is a silver metal box. It can hold 15 famicom games at once. The unique thing about the games is that their shells are the same as your standard NES cartridge. All of the games have the same label. These games will only work on the FamicomBox system. Meaning if you buy a FamicomBox game it will not work on any regular retail famicom or NES. Many games like Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Exitebike, Ice Climbers, Bomberman, Donkey Kong 1 and 2, Gradius, Rockman and many more are on this system. Also, the controllers and light gun on this system are similar to the NES.     The End Thank you for reading this article, it really means a lot to me. Follow me on
